Lorraine Schwartz Opens Exclusive Boutique in Bergdorf's

Elusive Lorraine Schwartz
Hot on the heels of Kim Kardashian's amazing wedding jewelry, and along with Beyonce, Angelina, and Jennifer's incredible sparkles, Lorraine Schwartz has opened an exclusive boutique in New York's fabulous little jewel, Bergdorf Goodman.

Schwartz told Women's Wear Daily, "The boutique is the only place where you can see my entire collection," which includes, Against Evil Eye, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil Monkeys, and 2BHappy.

Bergdorf's has hosted many of Schwartz's little beauties for years now but made the decision to open dedicated real estate due to the need for extra space, which they will need in case Kim Kardashian's ass ever shows up for an event.  Bergdorf's is a small store as you know...

18 carats and worth $5 million dollars to get married, I wonder what Beyonce's push gift will be???

The Kardashian Bubble

Do you think Kim Kardashian's wedding was more exclusive than Kate Middleton and Prince William's April nuptials?  Although there was similar mystery shrouding the dress and ring  beforehand, there isn't the same type of after buzz.  The Kardashian's cut a deal with E! News and People Magazine who control the rights to the wedding video's and photos, and when they will be released and we must suffer until October until we see the entire thing (sob).  As you scour the internet, you will find the same photos of Kris Jenner's ridiculous bow gown (was Vera playing a joke - I thought they were friends) and little Mason scampering erratically down the aisle (cue human element) but real information about her big day is being slowly squeeked out  like the air out of a balloon.

From the photos I've seen, I have to say she looked beautiful, including her unusual headpiece, which featured a 2.5 million dollar, 65 carat diamond strand, with large stones hanging throughout on her forehead.  I guess it's what you wear when you don't have a 300 year old tiara in the family that you can to dust off and sparkle in for the day.  But the real show stopper had to be those 28 carat diamond earrings.  Reports say all of her jewelry was exclusively provided by Lorraine Schwartz, the same designer who made that unbelievable 20.5 carat engagement ring, and totaled over 10 millions dollars.  The earrings, reminiscent of Oprah's fabulous Graff diamond earrings, have a huge pear shaped diamond swinging from a diamond element at the ear.

I think she'll get tired of this look as it's not easy to wear.
I was able to finally see an image of her wedding band and I called it in my previous post, "What Wedding Ring Will Kim Kardashian Choose?" Also by Lorraine Schwartz, it looks like Kim chose a 15 carat eternity band of emerald (or radiant or Ascher) cut diamonds, however, she's wearing it with her engagement ring which is not a very good idea.  Not only don't they fit very well, but diamonds rubbing against diamonds could cause damage to the stones (diamonds are the only stone that can damage another diamond).  Although it would be fun to wear thirty plus carats on your finger, alas, it's not very comfortable.

But I predict a Kardashain bubble is in the making.  Just like the internet bubble, the housing bubble and the banking bubble, the Kardashian's are approaching bubble bursting over-exposure.  They should cut back but show no signs of doing so.  There are even two new Kardashian sisters who are being cultivated in the lab as we speak because there can never be enough Kardashian's.  But even Oprah knew when it was time to go...I just hope we don't have 25 years of Kardashian's....I'm not interested in see Kim go through menopause.

Kim Kardashian’s Unassuming 20.5 Carat Diamond Engagement Ring

Surprisingly, there are very few close-up photos of Kim and her ring.  With all the images out there of the Kardashian’s you would think they would be plastered everywhere.  I guess there would be more photos if we hung rings off our asses. Photo by Bauer-Griffin.com
Obviously Kim Kardashian needed a diamond that would balance out her badonkadonk, so that’s why her boyfriend, New Jersey Nets Kris Humphries, proposed to her with an emerald cut diamond engagement ring with a center stone weighing 16.5 carats and two side stones weighing 2 carats each, for a whopping 20.5 carat total weight.  According to People magazine, the diamonds are of the “highest quality," designed by celebrity jewelry designer, Lorraine Schwartz, and valued in the neighborhood of $2 million.  You might remember Lorraine Schwartz from my emeralds post.  She is responsible for Angelina Jolie’s gorgeous emerald earrings and ring. So Humphries, who pocketed $3.2 million for this past season for the Nets, totally ignored the two months salary rule for engagement rings. However, it was just reported that Humphries’ contract with the Nets runs out as soon as the NBA postseason is over, and he will become a free agent where he stands to be courted by other teams for big money. Alas, I wish I paid more attention in gym class.

This image is from People magazine, but I can’t be sure it’s really her ring.  Unless that arm and body are attached to her head, no one knows for sure…but it matches the description of her amazing diamond.

Why it Pays to Hook Up With Athletes…In Order of Size (diamond that is)…

Hilary Duff

Duff's 14 carat radiant cut diamond from hockey player Mike Comrie is worth an estimated $1 million. Great piece of ice.

Khloe Kardashian

Lamar Odom gave the reality star a Vartan's Fine Jewelry 12.5-carat radiant-cut ring worth $850,000.  Do you think she’s jealous of her sister’s ring?

Carrie Underwood

Hockey player Mike Fisher gave Carrie this 12-carat diamond ring worth about $800,000 before proposing in December 2009.  Ice by Zamboni.

Keyshia Cole

The Cleveland Cavaliers' Daniele Gibson gave the singer a 9-carat round-cut Jason of Beverly Hills ring worth $800,000 during his New Year's proposal.  I'm not sure who this person even is, but in my book, she could just be famous for the ring (she is actually a singer).

Maria Sharapova

L.A. Laker Sasha Vujacic popped the question to the tennis star in October with an estimated 9-carat cushion-cut stone. The estimated cost: $250,000.  We could surmise that Keyshia’s 9 carat cushion cut diamond at $800,000 might be better quality than Sharapova’s 9 carat at $250,000.

The Dancing with the Stars  celebrity has an estimated 4.5 carat princess cut diamond, worth approximately $95,000 from fiancĂ©e, Detroit Tiger’s starting pitcher Brad Penny.  These stones are starting to get a little too small for my taste.

Kendra Wilkinson

Hank Baskett gave his June 2009 bride a Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers 2.25-carat princess-cut ring worth about $50,000.  What’s up with that?  Hank, here are three things to keep in mind when you have the smallest ring on the list:

She was a Playboy Playmate.
She shook her booty on Dancing with the Stars.
She had your gigantic baby.

You should be ashamed of yourself…you need to upgrade this ring immediately.
